The
HET (High
Efficiency Transformer) products are specifically designed to reduce
the
operating cost of the facilities. The HET is the ideal transformer for
supplying power to panels or equipment with high linear load
concentration.
The
HET is a
three-phase isolation transformer and directly replaces a standard
Delta-Wye
transformer to deliver one of the shortest return on investment periods when used to feed their
appropriate
loads.
HET
is designed with efficiency levels much higher than what is required by
NEMA TP-1 and CSA 802.2-06 standards and exceeds US DOE CSL-3
efficiency levels. HET efficiency is third party verified by Intertek,
one of the most trusted test organizations in the world. It also bears
the Intertek logo for efficiency together with the related verification
number.
The
HET has 40%
lower core loss than a standard Delta-Wye transformer. Core loss (or
no-load
loss) is the energy that a transformer uses when it is energized
regardless of
the amount of load. This means that the HET will pay for itself many
times over
during its lifetime. The HET is also in line with KYOTO accord
requirements for
reduction of greenhouse gasses and carries one of the longest
warranties in the
business.
All
of the connection points
of HET transformers are accessible from the front of the units. They
also
accept a wide variety of extra options. The HET in its standard form
has a
maximum temperature rise of 130 °C with four primary voltage
taps (two taps
above and two taps below nominal).
The finished product is shipped in a shrink-wrapped, gray NEMA 3R
enclosure with corner protectors on our unique SmartSkid®,
for safe and effortless transportation and installation.
